Pictured is the Keeler Tavern at Christmastime, one of Ridgefield's most prominent landmarks. Originally built in 1713 by Timothy Hoyt, this historic building is located building is located at 132 Main Street in the center of 'town' - Ridgefield, Connecticut

In 1772, Timothy Keeler converted the building to an inn, just before the start of the American Revolutionary War. What makes this building so famous is that there's still a cannonball lodged in its walls, which was fired by the British during the Battle of Ridgefield on April 27, 1777. British forces targeted the tavern because the basement was used for making musket balls.

Today, the Keeler Tavern serves as a museum, reminding us of our revolutionary past. The Keeler Tavern is listed in National Register of Historic Places and is included in the Ridgefield Center Historic District.
